South Central Membrane Association
In April 2005, WaterPR tackled the challenge of taking a good idea and transforming it into a progressive, instrumental professional organization. The South Central Membrane Association (initially launched as the South Central Desalting Association) is a nonprofit focused on networking water treatment professionals in Texas and surrounding states to provide a clearinghouse for information on technology and provide hands-on training.
We’ve provided communications and administrative services for the organization, growing its membership from zero to 140 within two years. WaterPR built and maintains the organization’s online presence (www.scmembrane.org) and further established SCMA as a key stakeholder in legislative activities and professional development for operators, utility managers, engineers, vendors, and suppliers.
WaterPR oversees administrative duties, such as bookkeeping and membership maintenance and communications. We also plan, publicize, and execute several training conferences throughout the year in various locations. Attendees consistently rate these educational events as “highly valuable” and “very useful.”
